In 1954 it was designed for use by airline pilots. The watch was designed alongside Pan American Airways to be handy for their pilots and navigators as they crossed time zones. The watch is waterproof and easy-to-read. The Yacht-Master II was introduced in 2007 and first produced in 2010. It was designed keeping regattas in mind.
